Always love coming here. One of the best parts in the mall.
I work for LISD as an ESD teacher, awhile back I went to lewisville to get my teacher discount and the cashier told me I wouldn't need my ID again since I have the card. Today I go into Golden Triangle to use my discount and the lady cashier with grey hair (Cecilia) asks me if I have a membership. I show her my card and
Before I finish, I must tell you. I worked at Barnes and Noble for a year and a half in 2015-2016 and I never asked teachers for ID unless they didn't have their card, were signing up for one, or were renewing. I also never asked them if what they were buying is for the classroom. TEACHERS HAVE DISCOUNTS BECAUSE THEY ARE PAID TERRIBLY
My kids and I really love coming here.
Kendall is an associate there that helped me find the best books for myself and my family and didn't even flinch when my kids were being wild. She was cool with me and my kids and I really appreciated her help. We are B&N members and this is why, great customer service and wonderful books. Thanks Kendall!!!
Her thinking I don't look the part to be a teacher is called stereotyping. What a damn shame, Barnes and Noble. I thought you hired good people.
And so this lady, she asks me "is this for the classroom" I consider not answering because she shouldn't ask me this. It's none of her business and wouldn't actually keep me from using my discount. I tell her "no" she goes ahead and uses it. I have another transaction to use it for and when I pull it out for that one, she says "do you have your ID on you?" Looking at me like I could never in a million years be a teacher. She looks at me like I stole this card from someone. What a great way to harass and mortify a customer. Thank you, lady. You made me feel like I'm not allowed to use a discount that I earned. What terrible customer service.
I've come on the opening weeks of two separate black memoirs and the response has been the same.
Everytime I come to this location to get a memoir (especially written by or about a black person) they do not have it and say that it is not even being shipped to the store.
