Food was fantastic. But wait was not worth it. Hostess said wait was 30 to 40 min. Ended up being 1 hour and 5 min. Didn’t get a seat until we informed hostess how long we waited. What took the cake was people that entered after us were seated before we got a table.
I literally eat here every 2nd time I pass through Denton, typically for lunch. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the service is good, but not great. I love the ambiance and environment that the restaurant provides, and the food is exactly what you pay for. Worth the stop on in to see if you could be their next regular.
The setting is very nice. Great place for a date or showing the town off. I've been a few times and all the time the food has been great. Believe it or not the burger here is so good. I will say this was the first time I used a fork to eat a burger. So juicy and good! Today I went for brunch, no wait. I had the B&B Bekkie. It's like an original breakfast just fancy with roasted tomato and mushrooms. Mimosa flight was also a treat!
This place makes good food, with a decent variety of options, but makes me want to dine somewhere where the service is a bit more personal. I will dine here again!
Side note - I do dine alone, and have only sat at the bar once. I have never seen anyone else dining alone here... May be part of the reason that my service was only good.
Funky interior and delicious food. Came for work lunch, can’t wait to come back for dinner and beer! The stuffed sweet potato was legit. The burger comes with those awesome little shoestring fries.
Where do I even begin? Out of the six dinners on our table, everything was full of flavor. From burgers to quail, Barley & Board has no flaws. The pretzel appetizer was simple, yet delightful. The service was as lovely as the atmosphere of the building. I will now always try to stop in Denton on my way to Dallas to eat here.
