If you are ever in a position to need to go to an inpatient facility, DO NOT GO HERE!! Do some research! I went here based on recommendation from a psychiatrist at Baylor. If you only need a "safe" place, then it might be fine. A few of the staff members were nice but the rest treat you like you're a prisoner. Nothing but locked doors everywhere. They over stuff the facility so there's lots of people forced in a very small amount of space. The beds are absolutely ridiculous to sleep on. So as you lay there awake, you'll have the privilege of seeing numerous bugs crawling across the floor. When I got out of bed the first morning, I had fresh bug bites all down my legs.

This place is a joke! Don’t ever leave anything there when they finally let you out. You’ll never get your items back. We’ve left six messages for them, and they refuse to call us back. Now for the good stuff. They admitted to us that they keep you longer than necessary so the bed count can be higher for more money. The majority of the staff should be patients instead of the help. It’s a money mill and no more. We are still getting bills for things with 0 explanations! Go somewhere else if at all possible. Would rate less than one star if l could. This is not from a disgruntled patient (which they tell you when a posting is bad). This is from a parent. We read the reviews before taking our daughter up there, and we were told two things. The bad reviews were from unhappy people, and two, they were bought out and things have changed. WRONG on both accounts.

Thank you everyone for speaking up. I was entrapped there and very physically ill, documents were falsified by Dr.Sayed and other staff.I was court ordered to a state hospital. My civil rights were violated. I , myself was and witnessed abuse and neglect of others. The individuals working there are as corrupt as the system. They preyed on my vulnerabilities of being homeless as a result of domestic violence and when I called the human rights advocate their behavior was the same. Praying, God Bless.

My daughter has been there less than 24 hours and has been treated very poorly. Yes when you go there they are friendly and talk a REAL GOOD game but that all that it is a B.S. talk!!! I don;t understand it. Stop lying to these people. They have lied from the beginning and I'm very angry. I would not put my loved one in this facility.

I debated on whether or not to write a review cause I'm not really keen on the idea of anyone being able to know or see my business but if this review helps even one person, it will be worth it! Good luck and I hope you find the treatment that will truly help!!

And now to the worst part, if you are going there, you're going there for help but that's not what you'll find at UBH. In 8 days, my inpatient psychiatrist spent a TOTAL of less that 10 minutes with me. He was no help at all!! They are pill pushers and that's about it! And if you try to sign yourself out, they will threaten to take you to court even though you voluntarily signed yourself in. They will tell you that you'll be in there longer if you try to go that route. I felt like it was nothing but a scam. They keep you there based off how long your insurance will pay and not by how severe your case is. I've been home for 3 weeks now and have gotten way more help from a different psychiatrist. Being trapped in that hell hole still wakes me up in the middle of the night with nightmares!!

If I could give this place a negative review I would. This shows how our country handles mental health issues and facilities and how they staff them. I would never bring my child back there ever again. Thank God I did not sign the paperwork that gives my approval for doing an assessment on my child. I have already seeked other therapists help and was very impressed with how they have already helped my child. I will never give up on my kid and will find the best and most appropriate place for their treatment and this is NOT THE PLACE. I don't even know where to start.....we were there for two hours and asked for a simple glass of water and they never brought us any and every single door is locked. It literally is like prison and before going there I kept telling my child that a place like this would be very helpful and it's not like they are in prison and after we left we both told each other yep, it definitely is like a prison. They were running around under staffed and I should also say very unprofessional, definitely not fit for working with troubled people. Little empathy goes a LONG WAY with people who are already feeling depressed. I pray that I will never have to succumb to taking my loved ones or anyone for that matter to this place.
