Then our food came out, and I had to tell the waiter that we didn't get our other appetizer yet. He just walked away without saying anything, and brought some to our table mid meal.
A month or so ago I found Wang's in Southlake. Distance and time wise for me it is about the same. I think the food is better and at least their staff pretends that the customer is important. Sorry to see Chopsticks fall off like they have. There is 1 guy at Chopsticks who I have to say is there every time I go and is always friendly and helpful...didn't get his name but long hair and tats and is normally working take out and cashier station. He may be the only employee worth keeping. BTW the 3 stars is 4 stars for food and 0 stars for the customer experience I had tonight.
I've been eating here for years. I literally just had dinner here 10 minutes ago. I don't understand why this place has been terrible 2 out of 3 times I've dined here this past year. The food used to always be fresh, hot, and delicious. Tonight, just like another time about 9 months ago, the food and service was awful.
The waiter barely spoke and didn't acknowledge anything. We ate our mediocre cold food anyways since it was late and we had been on the road for 5.5 hours and had our 2 small kids with us.
Eat here 2 to 3x a week. Never gets old. Food is always hot and portions huge. Never left here hungry or unsatisfied. Staff is quick to acknowledge you and get your drink out to you. Best prices and daily specials are bigger bargain. I bring everyone I know to eat here and they get addicted as well.
The food was good. The service wasn't bad but it was different seeing that the servers didn't have set tables they were serving. They all served different tables all over the restaurant, I'm not a fan of that since you can't always get your server in a timely manner but besides that I was pretty impressed with the food with it not being an authentic Asian restaurant.
The chicken in my husband's General Tso dish seemed like it was prepared with the re-fry method like the egg rolls.
Let me start by saying I (and that includes my wife, kids and close friends) have been Chopsticks customers for almost 20 years. While the food quality has been consistent it seems to me that the service and attitude of many of the staff has taken a wrong turn. It has gone from being friendly and local to " I don't really care if I give good service at all...its just a job" mentality. Example: Tonight stopped by to place a to go order. Normally I would then sit at the sushi bar and have a couple of plates of sushi and a beer while I waited. Good right!? Evidently ownership is making so much money that the sushi bar staff can talk to their coworkers and pretend you don't exist till.you wander away. I eventually ordered ordered beer from the cashier and sat in the "lobby" while I waited for my to go order. Nice eh!? When I tried to explain it to the cashier she just shrugged.
Great food.served super hot. Took forever to cool off but worth the wait. If you plan to visit Mr. Chopsticks for lunch get there a bit early. There Can be a long wait for your food. Wait staff is friendly and attentive even when busy. Keep an eye out on patrons they vary from students to local Judges. You never know who you might run into.
My beef and broccoli was barely warm, and the beef was tough and dry. There was barely any broth. I order this dish every time I eat here, so I definitely knew it wasn't up to par with other times I've gotten it.
Both times, the appetizers were cold. We ordered egg rolls tonight, and they came out nearly burnt but refrigerator cold. Our waiter just said he'd "try" to get us some more. He didn't apologize or say anything about it. Then he came back with some super dark, nearly black, egg rolls. It was obvious that they just refried previously fried egg rolls.
I'll never go out of my way to eat here again. This really, truly used to be my favorite restaurant. Not anymore.
