My very gentle and playful 11 month bulldog Mulder was viciously attacked and came back with a large bite wound on the right side of his face while he was on his 2nd day at Dogs Rule Resort in Carrollton, TX. During the Thanksgiving weekend, I find this wonderful place called SouthRidge Animal Hospital; despite the automatic recording on my regular vet office recommending the Denton County Animal ER, that was ALSO closed. I couldn’t have been more fortunate and happy because Dr. Jones is perhaps the most professional, loving and caring veterinarian I've ever met. His loving care towards his patients can be immediately seen and his kindness toward their human parents is second to none. Apparently the dog that attacked Mulder not just left a massive bite, but also pulled the top layers of skin separating it from the bottom layers. It was oozing because it's dying out and it had staph infection on top of the damage. The care he received was exceptional in every way even to the smallest detail of when I picked him up with a more comfortable soft e-collar (instead of the horrid hard plastic ones that most vets put on) so he could sleep. I emailed a few follow up questions, that were returned under his direction by his awesome daughter Kirby. Needless to say, I’m switching over to SouthRidge Animal Hospital as my dog’s primary care. Several days later, I received a letter in the mail from South Ridge Animal Hospital. It was a heartfelt card signed by every member of their staff with a sweet, personal message extending their condolences to my family and I. It caused me to erupt into tears.

Unfortunately, I recently had a beloved member of my family pass away unexpectedly: my dog, Nikita. In an emotional clamor, I opted to have my baby cremated. I could hardly communicate with the staff due to my overwhelming sadness, but the staff was accommodating and sympathetic. Before I left, a very sweet member of their staff gave me a much needed hug.
I have to give this ENTIRE staff 5 stars (more if I could honestly) I brought my baby President in because he had a urinary blockage and they were so helpful and kind. I was a nervous wreck and they helped me stay calm. The Doctor is great and easy too talk to. My babes had to be kept for 2 days and I was worried about picking him up and his aftercare. I was worried for nothing because they all treated him like part of the family and gave me great instructions. President also seemed pretty happy for being at a vet. I was mostly shocked at how affordable they are and for quality service (I am a struggling college student so this is a big deal). I HIGHLY recommend Southridge Animal Hospital. They will be my go to for all my babies needs!!
Dr. Jones is a phenomenal vet. He is a generous, kind, genuine, and understanding. I wouldn't dream of going to another vet in this area. He has treated myself, my husband, and our animals (1 guinea pig and a dog) like royalty. There is so much to admire about his patient/client manner. For this reason, he has many devoted clients but still takes plenty of time with each of us to explain treatments and answer every possible question. I have gone in for countless walk-ins and they have always managed to squeeze me in when my dog was chronically ill. My only further recommendation is to make an appointment well in advance because a vet like this is always in extremely high demand!
This place is the most caring and loving veterinary clinic I've ever been to. I've moved around North Texas quite a bit, but when I'm living in Denton, I've always taken my pets to this clinic because of how genuinely personable and caring their staff is.
They take great care of my mutts, and they do so at a very reasonable price. 3 times in a year I've been shocked at the low bill after dealing with unexpected health issues. They're fantastic!
Words literally can't describe how incredible this group of people is. If my heart ever heals, and I'm able to welcome another dog into my family, there's no question to where I'll be taking them for all of their veterinary needs.
